Who We Are

John V. L. Nguyen founded OneMinuteMed in 2023 and serves as its President and Chief Executive Officer. He is responsible for leading OneMinuteMed’s brand strategy, operations, long-term sustainability plan, and growth.

John V. L. Nguyen is a PhD candidate in the Biological and Biomedical Engineering program at McGill University, where he researches high-throughput screening of synthesized DNA libraries for use as potential diagnostic molecules. He also earned an MSc and BSc in Biology at York University.

Unsatisfied with the state of medical misinformation on the internet, John conceptualized the creation of OneMinuteMed as a reliable source for information on breakthrough medical research, with content tailored for understanding by individuals without PhDs.

Antoine Karoichan was a founding member of OneMinuteMed since 2023 and serves as its Chief Content Officer. He is responsible for editorial direction and oversight and leads the Content Development and Editorial Team.

Antoine is a PhD candidate at McGill University’s Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences in the division of Biomaterials, Nanobiotechnology and Tissue Engineering. His current work focuses on exploring extracellular vesicles and developing nanoparticle-based delivery platforms for osteoarthritis therapies. He has previously completed his MSc in the same field and BSc in Biochemistry at McGill University.

Antoine believes that scientific and medical discussions are becoming more limited to particular niches and are riddled with complexities and jargon that can facilitate the spread of misinformation. Through his involvement with OneMinuteMed, he aims to make the communication of biomedical research more accessible and help build a trusted platform that allows the general public to be more involved and up to date with scientific breakthroughs.
